QUESTIONS OFTEN ASKED BY VISITORS
- Is the Park open the entire season?
Yes, the Park remains open. In bad weather a train with roof-over wagons operates.
- Is it possible to eat a picnic on the Parks premises?
Yes, anywhere except directly in front of the food/drink stands. These places are reserved for customers.
- Do the trains parked at the station operate?
Trains are put into operation according to the increase in the number of visitors. One to nine trains may run at the same time.
- May a person enter the Park for refreshments only?
No. Anyone entering has to pay the full entry fee. A unlimited number of train tours are included in the price.
- Is it possible to have a private party on the premises?
It is possible to have a company party, a banquet, a wedding reception on the premises. For all inquires, please go to regarding conditions, terms and special prices.
- How long is a train tour?
12 minutes on the average.
- Can a handicaped person ride the train?
Yes, it is possible to install a low-bed trailer for people in wheel-chairs.
- How many people can be transported on one train?
Each train has 4 to 8 wagons, each wagon safely transports 5 adults.
- After paying the entry fee, may a person leave and return into the Park?
Yes. After paying at the entry, your hand will be stamped. This stamp is valid for the rest of the day.
- As of what age do children pay an entry fee?
As of the fourth birthday.

- Why are there 3 rails?
Our track layout makes it possible to operate locomotives and rolling stock having a track gauge of 5'' or 7 1/4". Rails do not carry any electricity.
- Who gets permission to run an engine or train on the Park track?
All persons being owner of locomotives having a track gauge of 5 or 7 1/4 inch may use the track layout of the Park, provided the following conditions are fulfilled:
- the locomotive is not overly noisy
- the locomotive is capable of operating at speeds of 8km/h (4.9 mph)
- the locomotive engineer conforms to the orders of the dispatcher / station master.
- Who gets the permission to sail boats on the Park lake?
All owners of model boats may come and sail them on the lake of the Park, provided the following conditions are met:
- the boat is a hand-made model-boat and not a big-size toy.
- What year was the Park opened for operation?
Construction of the Park started in 1987. It was inaugurated in 1989.
- Do the steam engines operate with real steam?
Yes, they operate like the big ones. They consume water and coal.
- How do the other engines work (BVB, AL, FO, MOB, MGN, Amtrak)?
A gasoline car engine (Toyota Starlet 1.3 liter) works in connexion with a hydraulic pump of variable displacement, feeding fluid via a flexible hose to a hydraulic motor installed in each power bogie.
